Worship Ministry

Praise and Worship.jpg

“Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly, teaching and admonishing one another in all wisdom, singing psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, with thankfulness in your hearts to God.” Colossians 3:16

“Enter his gates with thanksgiving, and his courts with praise! Give thanks to him; bless his name!"  Psalm 100:4

Music enables us to glorify God as we worship Him in spirit and truth through praise and song. It prepares and postures the heart to receive the message of Christ’s gospel and the Word of God. We seek to honor the Lord through corporate worship and prayer, lifting our voices as one body of Christ in unity with one Spirit. As a result, we are moved to respond to the transformational and redemptive work of Christ in our lives.

Worship Leader

Eleonora Jencsik

Ellie was born and raised in Madison Heights, Michigan with 6 other siblings. She grew up in a very musical family and attended a Romanian Baptist Church where her dad was Band Director. She played the trumpet in the church band and sang in the choir. Ellie was saved and baptized at 9 years old.

Around age 20, she began to attend Kensington Community Church in Troy, MI, and joined the worship team there. In 2008, she relocated to Manhattan to help start a church with Kensington Pastor Craig Mayes and wife Chris. Soon after, under the leadership of Pastor Craig, Ellie served in different capacities including worship at Communitas, a church implemented within the NYC Rescue Mission in Lower Manhattan. Communitas serves the most vulnerable in need, including the homeless. “Since the 1870s, neighbors experiencing homelessness, hunger and other crises have turned to New York City Rescue Mission for hope and second chances.”

In 2014, she was married to Jesse Jencsik and eventually moved to North Carolina where they attended Calvary Chapel Cary with Pastor Rodney and Elvira Finch. Her beautiful vocal ability landed her a spot on their vibrant worship team. They have since relocated to New Jersey, have been reunited with their family and joined the Calvary Chapel Berkeley family. The Jencsiks have two children, Cataleia and Slade.
