WINGS Nursery/Early Childhood Ministry
Ages Infant - 5
“Train up a child in the way he should go and when he is old, he will not depart from it.” Proverbs 22:6
The vision of the Calvary Chapel Berkeley WINGS Nursery/Early Childhood Ministry is to inspire a love for God and to sow early seeds of the knowledge of His Son in the hearts and minds of the youngest children in our fellowship.
Our mission and primary focus is on:
Biblically guided activities through worship, prayer, arts & crafts, and play, all to the glory of God,
partnering with parents to help raise a generation of children who will come to know Christ at the earliest age possible,
providing the necessary age-appropriate tools to set our children on a “flight” path toward spiritual growth,
presenting a Christ-centered interactive environment where children have structure to learn, and freedom to create,
making each child’s early experience at church a safe, fun, and valuable one.
Dawn, Jack and Jon
Dawn has been teaching in the disciplines of Mathematics and Biology since 1997. She is a gifted teacher and passionate about children. She can be found moving and serving in many circles, whether it’s with her son Jack’s football team, or coordinating a fundraiser for families in need for the Berkeley Little League community or offering hospitality for Bible studies in her home. She has a servant’s heart. Most recently, Dawn was involved in raising awareness of the needs for Afghan children through Congressman Andy Kim’s office and coordinated donations throughout the community. She can be spotted behind the scenes always in motion. We are very grateful and blessed for her exemplary service to the Lord with the youngest in our church family.
Jon has been an active member of our community for years. He has served as a past President of the Berkeley Little League Organization, is a current board member, and coach. He is also a long-time member of law enforcement. Jon was a police dispatcher for 5 years between Ocean County Sheriff’s Department and Bradley Beach PD. He went on to serve as a police officer for the NYPD for 3 years and subsequently 20 years with the New Jersey State Police. He is recently retired and works for Northwestern Mutual as a Financial Representative. Aside from so many great accomplishments, Jon’s home is always open to the church and his heart is to serve wherever possible.
Both Jon and Dawn are an impactful ministry team, passionate about volunteering their time for youth and high school sports and helping people wherever the Lord leads. They love to spend their time off vacationing in their RV or just cruising around. We welcome their dedicated leadership, embrace their enthusiasm, and are grateful for their devotion to the Lord’s work here at Calvary Chapel Berkeley.
Jon and Dawn are married 17 years and have a wonderful son, Jack, who has served as assistant in many capacities at church. They are also the proud owners of five frisky but lovable dogs.
