Ages 6 - 12

“But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles, they shall run and not be weary, and they shall walk and not faint.”  Isaiah 40:31

The vision of the Calvary Chapel Berkeley EAGLES Children’s Ministry is to engage, equip, and enable each child to soar in the faith, to be prepared for life and to reach others for Christ, while gathering and growing in a loving Christ-centered community.

Our mission is to promote spiritual maturity in connection with their families by:

  • educating children through age-appropriate biblical curriculum and inspiring activities,

  • equipping them to “soar” through weekly studies in the Word of God,

  • preparing them for energetic and effective service in the church and community,

  • encouraging a relationship with Jesus first, and then others,

  • and investing as much time in each child through sincere, well-trained, compassionate leadership.

Dan and Liza Kiernan

Elijah, Ethan, Josh, Lily

Liza is a Calvary Chapel Costa Mesa (CA) Bible College graduate and has been involved in Children’s Ministry over the course of 20 years.  She is an industrious mom who passionately homeschools their four beautiful children, Elijah, Joshua, Ethan, and Lily.   She is not only a joy to her family, but to everyone she meets.  With an evangelistic heart and compelling spirit, Liza has led many to the Lord, as she touches people’s hearts just about everywhere she goes.  She is a dedicated servant with a fervor to impart truth.  Liza and her husband Dan, currently head up a very robust Children’s Ministry here at CC Berkeley, where they have inspired others to get involved while moving the vision for an expanding Children’s Ministry forward.

Dan attended Calvary Chapel Bible College in Austria.  “Calvary Chapel Bible College Europe first found its home in Austria; it was mainly a place where mature believers came to grow deeper in their knowledge and understanding of the Word in order to be raised up as passionate disciples for Christ. A high priority was placed on principles of leadership as CCBCE began to take a much more serious approach toward the discipleship and raising up of pastors and ministry leaders throughout Europe.”

Dan’s humble leadership and service to the Lord is solidly rooted in the Word of God, lived out in his home first, expanding outward to the church, workplace, and community.  His loyalty, hard-work ethics, commitment, and devotion to His Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, fashion the extraordinary asset that he is, wherever God places him.  Dan has been serving in Calvary Chapel churches for years and we are blessed and encouraged to have him, his family, and their extended family onboard with us.

Our church celebrates “ministry couples,” and it is an honor to serve alongside Dan and Liza as they continue to flourish and impact the lives of our precious children, to the glory of God.

Dan and Liza really enjoy camping, the Jersey Shore beaches, sporting events, spending time together as a family, as well as indulging in extended family gatherings. Their home is always available to meet the needs of kids, especially teens, in search of solace and encouragement.
